Learning about children!

Little kids are nuts. I am working with ten year olds, and for many of them life is an insane competition for attention and status. I wonder if I still live like that, but just compete in less blatant ways than they do. Yeah, now that I think about it I really do. But some kids have dropped out and don't battle for attention, I wonder what happens to them?
