Hopefully having some personal advice will help people understand these things, enjoy!
Right now I am constantly thinking about why not thinking is better than thinking. When I have been trying to silence my mind, it is still thinking. Always constantly going over why not thinking is better than thinking. And here I am trying to say why, and nothing comes to mind, shows how good thinking all that has been. The mind will always have something new, seductive, advantageous to think about. And perhaps it is better to not think, or at least to learn to quiet my mind, have control over my thoughts.
Yoga is a time where you can experiment with this thing we call "experience" or "consciousness" or
"the state of being". Try and feel yourself existing, and think from the back of your brain, and quiet your mind.
Close your eyes, Relax the eyeballs, throat, and think from the back of your brain. Focus on the feeling of your skin, and any feeling at all coming in. This, the yogi knows, is called "experience".
Thinking and "being" are a trade off. When I quiet my mind I feel more in touch with my sensory inputs, more in touch with the world, and less in my head.
Practice
If one wants to advance in meditation or yoga or the frontier of consciousness, and is serious about it then do these three things: practice every day at the same time with attention to regularity, eat a healthy diet, and practice in the same, sp Right now I am constanlty thinking about why not thinking is better than thinking. To advance one needs constant practice, this is the key!
But if you are not as motivated, then you should try to get motivated! Read books on mediation then meditate after wards, read books on yoga and do yoga, jut get a poke, then act on it!
